Peptides are amino acid chains that can act as messengers to the skin cells. There are many types of peptides and the peptides that Chellá formulates with can act as messengers to the skin cells which produce collagen and elastin. These peptides can “awaken” the response of these skin cells and encourage the production of more collagen and elastin, thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This is truly the only way to topically reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. Collagen and elastin production is reduced to an almost negligible amount as the skin ages and collagen cannot be put back into the skin topically as their molecules are too large to be absorbed into the skin. Collagen must be injected into the skin which, besides being a painful procedure, is expensive and has a limited effectiveness.
